CDs
I noticed something interesting in barnes and noble today. their CD collection was very diverse but the shelves seemed empty. They only keep 1 or 2 copies of most albums on hand. I imagine this has something to do with everyone stealing their music from the internet or buying digital copies of files over iTunes or similar media sharing network. I tried to imagine the last time I bought a physical CD in a store. In all honesty I have no idea when that was or how anyone could justify selling physical CDs anymore. I imagine selling CDs will go in the same direction that payphones have gone and DVDs may not be far behind.

technology is a cruel mistress
I spend a decent amount of time trying to figure out how to get technology I want for free. I guess I am partly to blame for the poor CD selection at Barnes & Noble. But in all honesty why would you pay for something that is so easy to get for free or close to free anyway. For anyone that has a blackberry or some other smart phone, get on your mini browser and download Pandora mobile. You will not be disappointed nor will you need an mp3 player anymore. I have used Pandora on my computer for years and loved it. Pandora mobile streams your favorite music right to your handset. There have been other options for internet radio on smartphones but Pandora has the best interface. Everything is free however you get to hear ads. Someone has to pay for music.
